The
Telemetry Module permits a team to monitor the engine and chassis
sensors in real-time. In conjunction with the unsurpassed performance
of EFI's 900MHz Real-Time Telemetry System, vital vehicle information
is delivered to the race engineer each lap. This relieves the driver
of having to continuously monitor the dash display and assists the
engineer in the rapid decision-making process to win a race. The
telemetry data can be displayed in various formats including distance
plot, tabular, numeric and bar graph display.
Key
features include:
- A
Map window shows the current track positon.
- An
End of Lap summary highlights the maximum and minimum values experienced
during each lap to monitor trends.
- An
Alarm window pops up to alert the team of any parameter that is
out of safe operating range.
Fuel
Strategy Program
An
integral Fuel Strategy Program calculates the amount of fuel remaining
and the number of pit stops required to finish the race. This information
is vital to the race engineer in the heat of a race to make the
vital decisions to optimize the pit stop strategy.
Real-Time
Math Channels
Another
major advantage that the EFI Telemetry System provides is the ability
to perform complex math operations on the real-time telemetry data.
This feature enables the race engineer to study the dynamics of
the race vehicle as it is in motion. Examples include understeer
gradient, vehicle pitch and aerodynamic balance. Engineers use this
data to quantify the effect of setting changes without having to
wait for the downloaded data. Therefore, decisions regarding the
next setting change can be made more quickly to give the team a
significant advantage.
